King’s Cross & Angel
What are you going to do?
This walk will take you through up-and-coming King’s Cross and bustling Angel. Two different neighborhoods, with lots of nightlife hotspots, making them the perfect evening destination. There are plenty of trendy restaurants, pubs, bars and theaters here.
King’s Cross has undergone a significant transformation since the arrival of the Eurostar high-speed railway. There is construction everywhere, with new houses and office buildings going up rapidly, and a steady stream of new restaurants, cafés and hotels opening up. One of the highlights on this walk is Granary Square, which is surrounded by renovated warehouses, that are now home to cool restaurants and the art students of Central Saint Martins. The square is home to festivals, concerts and events year-round. There is also a weekly street food market.
For classical music, art, and theater, head to Kings Place. This cultural center has two concert halls, several art galleries, a bar, and a restaurant with a view of the canal. A little bit further, you´ll find the London Canal Museum. Taking a trip with a tour boat here is fun. Tours will take you over Regent’s Canal and past Little Venice, London Zoo, and Camden Town.
Angel is a charming neighborhood in Islington, where few tourists come. You won’t find any big museums or famous attractions here, but you will find a huge selection of great shops, Camden Passage antiques market, restaurants run by celebrity chefs like Yotam Ottolenghi, and theaters such as Sadler’s Wells.
