What are you going to do?

This walk takes you to the heart of Catalan Modernism. Along the way you will encounter both very exuberant and slightly more boring buildings that were built in this very specific version of the German Art Nouveau French Art Nouveau. The Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera and Casa Batllo Gaudi to name a few, but also works by other famous modernist architects. For the advanced Barcelona-goers Casa Amatller and Casa Lleó i Morera are definitely worth a visit. Can’t get enough of this art movement? Visit the Museu del Modernisme Català as well.

Along the elegant Passeig de Gràcia and Rambla de Catalunya you will find one luxury shop after another, but the great Spanish brands such as Zara, Mango and Massimo Dutti are also located here. Take a walk through Bulevard Rosa as well. While this shopping mall is not very appealing upon first glance, nowadays you’ll find many great shops here. In the immediate vicinity you'll find great restaurants like Cornelia & Co., Fishop and Me. The  Jaime Beriestain Concept Store is also a must. Here are you’ll find inspiration for your home and then grab one of the very comfy chairs for lunch or a coffee.

The further you get away from the Passeig de Gràcia, the quieter the district gets. The garden at the university building is a fine place to catch your breath, as well as the Parc de Joan Miró. If you take the route all the way to the old bullring Las Arenas, then you must go to the roof for a 360-degree view of the city.
