Spijkerkwartier

This is by far the most vibrant neighbourhood in Arnhem. The Spijkerkwartier is an urban neighbourhood with stately buildings and always something going on in the streets. Once known for its prostitution, it has now disappeared; what remains is its conviviality and diversity. Artists and students live here, young and old, and there is something for everyone. The shops you find here are as diverse as the inhabitants; from second-hand to design, cafés, a neighbourhood supermarket, bakery and butcher. Steenstraat, in particular, is popular and fun to walk through, if only to witness the diversity.
