Exarcheia is Athens' rawest neighbourhood, with its own beauty that you have to want to see. Students, intellectuals and activists live here, meeting in one of the many cafes in this anarchist neighbourhood. It is a vibrant neighbourhood that hosts independent bookshops, small taverns and alternative cafes where local residents discuss politics with each other. Exarcheia is known for its socially critical street art; sometimes raw and often with some humour, even if it is often black. You can spend a day here if you want to see all the street art.
