Omonia

View on the map

Omonia is the district for when you are looking for a budget hotel.

Omonia is the neighbourhood for you if you like to explore the rawer side of Athens. Omonia Square does not have a good reputation, many travel guides tell you to stay away from here. Indeed, it is not the best neighbourhood in Athens, but also not as dangerous as some would have you believe. Not many 'old stones' here, as this area was outside the city walls in ancient times. But you will see 19th-century architectural gems. When Omonia Square was built in the 19th century, it was the city's posh square. You have to have some imagination to remember that. Omonia is full of budget accommodation.

  • Hotel

    Art Suites Korai

Sleek, minimalist rooms close to the Archaeological Museum. Cool off in the (small) pool after a day in the city.

  • Hotel

    Breeze Boutique Athens

Not enough luxury to pass for boutique hotel, but definitely a good budget option. The neighbourhood is a bit unfinished, but the metro to the city centre nearby.

  • Hotel

    Evita Asty

Good beds and basic, cosy interior. Because of the neighbourhood, not so suitable for families or solo travellers, but a good choice for groups of friends.

  • Hotel

Dave Red Athens, a member of Brown Hotels

The neighbourhood is a bit unpolished, but the metro is nearby and this hotel has a good vibe. Great for anyone still young or feeling young.

  • Hotel

    Athens Tiare by Mage Hotels

Spacious, slightly business-like hotel, with nice fresh rooms in the Omonio district. Breakfast is well catered for.

  • Hotel

    CASUAL KUBIC ATHENS

Good breakfast, nice rooms (also for families) and the metro nearby. Cosy prints and wallpaper everywhere. A nice home away from home in a more raucous part of town.

  • Hotel

    Athens One Smart Hotel

The Omonia district is still raw and ragged. If you don't find that too exciting, this budget hotel really comes highly recommended. Good price for nice rooms.

  • Hotel

    Iasonos Suites Athens

Bright rooms with hip accents and fine beds. A nice hotel, good price, but if you are easily scared on the street, prefer to book in a different neighbourhood.

  • Hotel

    Dunlin Hotel

If you don't want to spend all your money on a hotel this time, consider this budget option. The neighbourhood still has some frayed edges, but with the metro around the corner, you'll be in the city centre in no time.

  • Hotel

Brown Acropol, a member of Brown Hotels

Rooms with a retro vibe and a lovely rooftop terrace. The metro is around the corner, so a perfect base to explore all of Athens.

  • Hotel

    Fresh

Beautiful design hotel with not only stylish rooms, but also a bar and pool with views on top of the roof.
