The district for shopaholics and museum lovers.
This is the district for you if you love architecture and museums. The district forms around Syntagama Square, which means 'Constitution Square' and is Athens' central square. Here you will find the parliament building and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, guarded by presidential guards. Along the busy avenues are imposing neoclassical buildings, mostly housing ministries and museums. The square is also home to Syntagma metro station, Athens' main station. Here there is a free exhibition of the most important finds they made here during the construction of the station.
