The district for strollers, walkers, pavement cafes and lovers of Greek antiquity.
Thission is your district if you want to explore Athens from a quiet and spacious setting. For centuries, the remains of the hero Theseus were thought to be buried under the nearby temple of Hephaistos. The district was therefore called Thission. Thission is one of Athens' better neighbourhoods. It is a calm and spacious neighbourhood with nice flats, lots of greenery and with views of the Acropolis. The favourite Sunday morning pastime of many locals is taking a stroll along the car-free Agiou Pavlou and ending it with a coffee on one of the large terraces. Students perch on the terraces on the partly car-free Iraklidon.
