Take a stroll along the Landwehr Canal, enjoy some street food in an old market hall and pick up some sweet treats at a Turkish bakery.
Together, these neighbourhoods form the ideal destination for both museum lovers and street food enthusiasts. In the north-west of the district, you’ll find two interesting museums: the Jewish Museum and the Berlinische Galerie. Otherwise, this area is mainly a place to work and live. Things are very different in Kreuzberg 36, where once-desolate streets have come alive in recent years and home to the largest Turkish community outside Turkey. The neighbourhood offers a lovely mix of trendy food markets, clubs along the Spree and the Landwehr Canal, and many dönershops and delicious Turkish bakeries. Oranienstraße is the bustling heart of the neighbourhood.
