The perfect neighbourhood for when the kids are along: a playground on every street corner and plenty of terraces where you can enjoy a nice cup of coffee.
Prenzlauer Berg is the ideal neighbourhood if you want to explore the city from a lively (family-friendly) area with countless parks. It was once a run-down working-class neighbourhood where nothing had been restored since the war. These days, the neighbourhood looks very different. Prenzlauer Berg is full of playgrounds and parks, has plenty of lovely restaurants, cafés, shops (including children’s shops) and the city’s largest farmers’ markets. In addition, Mauerpark is one of the major attractions, especially on Sundays. Then it’s teeming with street musicians and hosts Berlin’s most famous flea market.
