Prenzlauer Berg is the ideal neighbourhood if you want to discover the city from a lively (family) neighbourhood with countless parks. It was once a run-down working-class neighbourhood that had not been restored since the war. Today, the neighbourhood looks very different. Prenzlauer Berg has many playgrounds and parks, lots of nice restaurants, coffee shops, (children's) shops and most of the city's farmers' markets. In addition, Mauerpark is one of the major attractions, especially on Sundays. Then it is bursting with street musicians and there is Berlin's most famous flea market.
