Here you can enjoy the gay scene, hunt for antiques, eat all day long and wander around Berlin’s biggest market.
This is the ideal neighbourhood if you’re looking for a friendly, atmospheric and green area. There are lovely squares nestled amongst beautiful old buildings, with coffee shops, playgrounds and the largest market in all of Berlin. The neighbourhood is also home to a number of wonderful antique shops. And there is a huge choice of lovely restaurants, cafés and bars. David Bowie once wrote some of his most famous songs in Schöneberg, Marlene Dietrich was born there, and Kennedy delivered his famous ‘Ich bin ein Berliner’’ speech at Schöneberg Town Hall. The gay scene has made this neighbourhood its own. The streets are therefore often brightened up with the rainbow flag.
