Abondo is the ideal area if you want to shop till you drop in a quiet neighbourhood or like to visit a museum. In this district you get a good impression of how Bilbao developed from the end of the 19th century. The urban expansion created grandeur in the streetscape: wide with beautiful buildings, varied architecture and green squares. This is predominantly where people live and shop, with the more original shops mainly found off the Gran Vía. Here you will also find the Guggenheim and the modern Errepublikaren park.
