The Sablon has traditionally been a wealthy neighbourhood where the textile industry was of great importance. The area around the Grand Sablon is expensive and the streets are lined with boutiques and chocolatiers. The Church of Our Lady of the Sablon is located between the Grand Sablon and the Petit Sablon. The Petit Sablon has a beautiful park, one of the most romantic spots in Brussels. The columns surrounding the park feature statues representing old guilds. Be sure to take a stroll through the idyllic Egmont Park.
