Don't forget to look up when walking through this cheerful district: the balconies and facades are full of flowers, especially in spring.
Alcázar Viejo or San Basilio, named after the church that stands here, is your district if you like patios (courtyard gardens). As a lover of greenery, this is definitely the place to be. Especially in spring, when the flowers are in bloom, it is beautiful here. The Spanish have known this for a long time; they come from all over the country to admire Córdoba's patios with their own eyes. Walk down Calle San Basilio and admire the facades and balconies full of flowers. Of course, you'll find historic architecture here too. Almost the entire district is surrounded by the old city wall and the royal stables from the 16th century can also be found here.
