Old Town

Do you prefer to explore the heart of the city? Then Old Town is the neighbourhood for you. It is the most visited area, where you’ll find plenty of sights and places to eat and drink. From the famous Edinburgh Castle on the rock, you can walk down the old high street past medieval houses, charming shops and Scottish pubs. Lose yourself in the narrow, cobbled streets until you reach the imposing Arthur's Seat and set out to conquer this hill, with a fantastic view of the city as your reward. Round off the day with a ghost tour or historical tour in the city’s underground vaults, followed by a good meal and a pint in a pub with live folk music.
