Strolling around Philips Village and then having coffee at the Koffiehuisje, together ingredients for a fun afternoon!
Philipsdorp is the former workers' village that Philips had built for its employees. These came from all over the country to work in Eindhoven and they had to be well looked after. In the middle of the workers' houses is the PSV stadium, where the employees' sports field used to be. The little building that once housed the first Etos (founded by Philips as a drugstore for its staff) also still exists. You can now find a sustainable neighbourhood supermarket there. This neighbourhood is a great place to wander around. The placards with old photos throughout the neighbourhood give an idea of the atmosphere of yesteryear.
