If you love street food, architecture and art, this is the place for you. San Lorenzo is best known for its markets, whilst San Marco is renowned for all the art you’ll find there. The Mercato Centrale in San Lorenzo is not to be missed. The large market hall, with a market on the ground floor and a veritable street food paradise above, is an attraction in its own right. In the San Marco district, you’ll find many famous works of art, such as Michelangelo’s David in the Galleria dell’Accademia and Fra Angelico’s frescoes in the Museo di San Marco. There’s also no shortage of lovely cafés and restaurants in this neighbourhood.
