Two working-class neighbourhoods you should definitely visit if you like markets, street food, art and a lively student atmosphere.
Lovers of street food, beautiful architecture, art and a cosy atmosphere should be here. San Lorenzo is best known for its markets and San Marco for all the art you will find there. The Mercato Centrale in San Lorenzo is not to be missed. The large market hall with an authentic market on the ground floor and a veritable street food hall above is an attraction in itself. The San Marco district is home to many famous works of art, such as Michelangelo's David in the Galleria dell'Accademia and Fra Angelico's frescoes in the Museo di San Marco. There is also no shortage of nice cafés and restaurants in this district.
