This fine working-class district full of shops and a cosy market is a nice place to mingle with the locals.
This is the district for you if you want to explore Florence from a cosy neighbourhood that tourists haven't really found yet. There is plenty to discover here. The cosy working-class district is packed with quaint shops, restaurants and bars. In the morning, it's a buzz around Sant'Ambrogio's morning market, while in the afternoon and evening it's lively thanks to the young people who come here to shop, eat or go out. Be sure to visit the old prison complex for a drink. If you are a fan of antiques and vintage, visit the typical Mercato delle Pulci (flea market) on the Largo Pietro Annigoni.
