Piazza Santo Spirito is one of my favourite squares. I love going to the (flea) market that takes place there twice a month.
This is the place to be if you prefer to relax in a beautiful park after your museum visit, fine dining or shopping. The district lies on the banks of the river Arno. This is the most original part of the city and the centre of Florentine industry. You will find plenty of artisans and antique shops, as well as one of the most important museums and the city's largest park and the beautiful Boboli gardens. This is one of the few neighbourhoods still largely inhabited by Florentines. You can tell by the restaurants. They are mainly aimed at the Florentine public and that means authentic Italian food.
