Santo Spirito is a lovely neighbourhood. You can eat, drink and stroll amongst the Florentines there.
Santo Spirito is a truly working-class neighbourhood where you almost feel as though you’re stepping into a different city. The neighbourhood lies on the banks of the River Arno. This is the most authentic part of the city and the heart of Florentine craftsmanship. You’ll find plenty of artisans and antique shops here, as well as one of the city’s most important museums and the Giardino di Boboli. This is one of the few neighbourhoods still largely inhabited by Florentines. You can tell this from the range of restaurants on offer, which are mainly geared towards the Florentine public.
