Say cosy city bustle, right on the water, then you say Altona. The district lies on the Elbe, where you'll also find most of its highlights. The Altonaer Fischmarkt at the Fischauktionshalle (fish auction hall) on Sunday mornings is one of Hamburg's most famous and eye-catching attractions. Further along the waterfront, you will come across old sailors' pubs and good (fish) restaurants. You can look out over the ever-active harbour from many places in this neighbourhood, for example from Dockland, an unusual building in the shape of a ship, or from the park near the Altonaer Balkon.
