Fancy discovering the authentic side of Lille? Then Wazemmes is the neighbourhood for you, as you’ll come across very few tourists in this colourful, working-class neighbourhood. Until 1858, Wazemmes was still a separate municipality. The neighbourhood has evolved from a typical working-class area full of textile factories into a cosmopolitan, artsy neighbourhood that mainly attracts artists and bohemians.
