Notting Hill is the district for vintagelovers, market-goers, bookworms, shopaholics and lovers of Caribbean carnival.
Notting Hill has been more popular than ever since the film of the same name. You shouldn't go here for culture, but for a great atmosphere. The place is bursting with great shops, cafés and restaurants. For example, on Westbourne Grove where you sit side by side with hip yummy mummies, fashion models and celebrities. Also visit the famous Portobello Market. Bargains you can forget, but mainly go for the experience. The offer varies from day to day. Antiques can only be found on Saturdays, when the market is at its largest. The further you walk towards the end, the more original the offerings. So don't be put off by the somewhat shabby railway bridge.
