Fancy a Madrid Sunday? Have a wander around El Rastro flea market, then pop into one of the many bars for cañas and tapas.
La Latina is one of Madrid’s oldest neighbourhoods. The medieval street layout, with its small squares and winding streets, is still recognisable, although most of the buildings date from the 19th century. These days, it’s all about food and socialising here. The neighbourhood is teeming with tapas bars and restaurants, meaning there’s always something going on from early in the morning until late at night. On Sundays in particular, many Madrileños head to La Latina: first they stroll past the market stalls and antique shops at the El Rastro flea market, then they pull up a chair for cañ and tapas in the bars around Plaza de Cascorro, Calle de la Cava Baja and Plaza de la Paja.
