Le Panier is a district you must have seen when visiting Marseille. It is one of the city's most photogenic spots.
Le Panier is known for its winding streets, charming squares and walls full of street art by graffiti artists. A fascinating encounter between young art and an old neighbourhood. And not just any old district, the city's oldest district. In 600 BC, the Greeks set up their first settlements here, which would later grow into the city of Massalia. You can still feel the ancient history at La Vieille Charité, among other places. This breathtaking spot with a chapel, galleries and olive trees almost takes you back in time.
