Longchamp is a cosy neighbourhood with a crazy park ánd is unknown to most tourists.
The Longchamp district is cosy and student-like. Here you will find many bars like La Cane à Bière and Longchamp Palace. The old city park Parc Longchamp is in the middle of the district and contains an impressive palace from 1869, which originally served as a water tower. The highest part of the park housed a zoo until 1987. Today, the empty cages are a reminder of this history. Don't forget to visit the Friche la Belle de Mai breeding place, right next to the Longchamp district. This place, with exhibitions, a skate park and a giant roof terrace, is one of the Marseillais' favourite nightlife spots.
