This is the neighbourhood for you if you love the combination of the sea and nature, history and good food, whilst being close to the city.
Campi Flegrei is an area within the Naples metropolitan area which means ‘the burning fields’, due to its volcanic activity. As a result, the area was already popular with the Romans, who enjoyed its luxurious thermal baths. There are some remarkable archaeological sites, including the sunken Roman city off the coast of Baia. Neapolitans come here in their spare time to enjoy the beaches, relax in the natural thermal baths, take a walk around the crater lake or savour the delicious food and local wines. The many restaurants and bars along Pozzuoli’s seafront promenade are also very popular.
