In this neighbourhood, the Seine is never far away. Join the locals and enjoy a picnic by the water. How romantic!
This is the place to be if you’re looking for historic Paris. It all began on the Île de la Cité; this is where the first settlers built their settlement. The famous Notre-Dame stands on this island. You’ll also find the Sainte-Chapelle cathedral with its beautiful stained-glass windows and La Conciergerie, where Queen Marie-Antoinette was imprisoned. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the Seine. Settle down in the Square du Vert-Galant or Place Dauphine for a picnic or, just like the French, have a game of boules. You can cross a bridge to Île Saint-Louis. This smaller island is known for the delicious ice creams at Berthillon and some lovely shops.
