The Hradčany district, home to Prague Castle, is a lovely place to visit if you fancy a stroll through centuries-old streets and beautiful gardens.
Prague Castle, one of the largest enclosed palace complexes in the world, is located in the Hradčany district. The castle was founded in the 9th century and gradually expanded over the years. The result is a diverse collection of architectural styles. A museum ticket grants you access to a number of buildings, St. Vitus Cathedral and the world-famous Golden Lane. Part of the castle is also accessible without an admission ticket.
The gardens surrounding the castle and the winding streets of Hradčany provide the perfect setting for romantic strolls. Our tip: Nový Svět, with its 17th-century houses, is a hidden gem.
