The Centre with its many museums, galleries and modern architecture is a must see if you have never been to Rotterdam before.
For the heart of the city, you have to be in the city centre. When thinking of Rotterdam's city centre, many people immediately think of Lijnbaan and shop-walhalla the Koopgoot. Fortunately, the Centre has more to offer. In May 1940, the Centre was largely destroyed in a German air raid. After the bombing, reconstruction quickly followed, resulting in today's modern cityscape. In the Centre, you will find plenty of culture, but you can also eat well in the many cafés and restaurants and have fun going out. When you get off at the new Rotterdam Central Station, the city lies at your feet.
