The Scheepvaartkwartier is the place to be for good food and historic buildings, whilst the quays serve as a constant reminder that the sea is not far away. The magnificent buildings in this neighbourhood once belonged to self-made port barons, bankers and directors. The grandeur of yesteryear is still very much in the air here, but these days the neighbourhood is also famous for its diverse range of restaurants.
