On every corner, there are bars serving delicious food and delicatessens. It’s also a great place to enjoy the outdoors with a glass and pintxo in hand. Let’s party!
San Sebastián was originally a fishing village by the harbour, at the foot of Urgull Hill. ‘Casco Viejo’ is, as the name suggests, the ‘old town’ and was once completely walled. Part of the city wall still remains. Adjacent to the old town is the Boulevard, a tree-lined ‘rambla’, and the ‘La Bretxa’ fresh market. Despite a severe fire, which broke out during the conflict between the English and the Portuguese against the French occupiers, the old town still retains its charm, particularly with its many bars displaying pintxos and the exuberant atmosphere of culinary delights and nightlife.
