El Arenal is popular thanks to its trendy restaurants and clubs. It is also the heart of the bullfighting tradition.
For many years, this stately neighbourhood with its rich history was ‘simply’ one of Seville’s more upmarket areas. Now, El Arenal is reinventing itself with modern bars, quirky restaurants and a vibrant nightlife in its many cafés and clubs. But tradition is still very much alive here; the proximity of the Plaza de Toros bullring dominates the streetscape. The neighbourhood also features the elegant streets and residents who inspired numerous composers when writing their operas.
