From El Prado, you can walk straight through the Plaza de España into the romantic greenery of Parque María Luisa.
This neighbourhood is best known for the bus station of the same name. In the past, El Prado (‘the meadow’) served very different purposes. For example, in the 18th century, the Inquisition’s bonfire was located here, and the first editions of the Feria de Abril de Sevilla were organised here. The adjacent Parque María Luisa was part of the gardens of the Palacio de San Telmo, until Princess María Luisa donated the vast plot of land to the people of Seville in 1893.
