The unique thing about these islands is that from the museum, you just hop on your bike and cycle through green nature, right in the middle of the city.
If you go to Stockholm mainly for the beautiful nature, but don't want to miss out on good food and cosiness, this is your district. Nature abounds on Djurgården! It is part of Ekoparken, the world's first national park in the middle of a city. Here you can relax in the woods, walk or cycle along the waterfront, go boating, enjoy a romantic picnic or visit a museum. Museums abound.
Skeppsholmen also belongs to Ekoparken and is one of the city's smaller islands. The island was a naval base until the late 1960s. Moderna Museet is the most famous museum on this island.
