On Kungsholmen, you can escape the tourist crowds, sit on a terrace amongst the locals and stroll along the waterfront.
Of all Stockholm’s islands, Kungsholmen is the least well-known to tourists. Apart from Stadshuset, the most prominent building in this neighbourhood – and perhaps in the whole city – there are no tourist attractions to be found here. In recent years, the neighbourhood has become more popular, partly because the range of shops and restaurants is becoming increasingly extensive and of a higher standard. Kungsholmen is also a favourite with runners and walkers. The paths along the water’s edge are perfect for getting in your daily run. But simply lying on the grass by the water’s edge is also a pleasant way to spend your time.
