On Kungsholmen, you can escape from the tourist crowds, sit on the terrace among the locals and stroll along the waterfront.
Of all Stockholm's islands, Kungsholmen is the least known to tourists. Apart from Stadshuset, the most prominent building in this district and perhaps in the whole city, you won't find any tourist attractions. In recent years, the district has become more popular, partly because the shopping and restaurant offerings are becoming more extensive and better. Kungsholmen is also popular with runners and walkers. The paths along the waterfront are perfect for daily kilometres. But lying in the grass on the waterfront is also a pleasant pastime.
