While Chinatown is best known for its huge variety of Asian restaurants, the Financial District is an area crowded with office tower blocks full of corporate bankers. The two intersect and mingle here, and both neighborhoods are the perfect example of how two extremely different cultures can exist side by side. In Chinatown you'll find square watermelons sold curbside, and senior citizens playing Chinese chess. Businesspeople in expensive suits come here to enjoy great food and sing karaoke in dive bars. We prefer to get takeout dumplings and head to City Hall Park, or pause for a moment of reflection at the impressive 9/11 Memorial.
