Kreuzberg 36 & Nordwesten
Nordwesten, the northeastern part of this district, has two interesting museums: Jüdisches Museum and Berlinische Galerie. Other than that, this part of Kreuzberg is mostly residential and home to office buildings.
This is in stark contrast to Kreuzberg 36, where the once desolate streets have recently become a vibrant neighborhood, home to the largest Turkish community outside of Turkey. This area is popular for its eclectic mix of hipster food markets, nightclubs on the banks of the Spree river and Landwehrkanal, and abundance of Turkish businesses selling döner kebab and delicious baked goods. Oranienstraße is the beating heart of it all.
