The city's fashion mecca. Also soak up culture at Plantin-Moretus, drink pints at Vrijdagmarkt and walk past antique dealers.
This is the neighbourhood for you if fashion makes your heart beat faster. It is home to the Fashion Museum, the Fashion Academy and shops by Belgian designers. Among others, you can shop here at Dries van Noten and Christian Wijnants. Museum lovers will also find what they are looking for here. Besides the fashion museum, here is the Museum Plantin-Moretus, a UNESCO world heritage site. It is the only printing/publishing house from the Renaissance and Baroque eras to have survived. On Sundays, head to Kloosterstraat for the antique shops. Stroll along the Scheldt and stop at the RAS, a restaurant overlooking the water in a building designed by Bob van Reeth.
