A few years ago, Antwerpers considered the neighbourhood between 't Zuid and Harmonie to be New South. With the construction of a completely new neighbourhood full of houses and galleries on the Scheldt, this has recently become New South. This neighbourhood is starting to come to life, but it is slow to take off. The previous New South is now called Brederode, the district if you like an alternative and less touristy atmosphere. If you cross the Leien on 't Zuid, you automatically end up in this emerging neighbourhood.
