Don’t miss the Saturday market and take a stroll through the side streets off the Meir, which are full of unique boutiques.
The Latin Quarter is the neighbourhood for shopaholics. It’s a veritable shopper’s paradise, with the Meir as its bustling centrepiece. As well as major high-street chains, you’ll find impressive 18th- and 19th-century architecture here, so don’t forget to look up every now and then. For a more unique shopping experience, head to the boutiques in the smaller side streets. Antwerp’s theatre scene is also centred here, with three theatres within easy reach. The Botanical Garden, better known as Den Botaniek, offers a peaceful patch of greenery in the city. The area around Theatre Square is bustling with life, featuring terraces, restaurants, a botanical garden and a weekend market.
