Go to 't Eilandje if you like light and space. On Sundays, it is cosy on terraces overlooking the marina.
't Eilandje is the neighbourhood if you are looking for the best combination of Antwerp and the ultimate holiday feeling. The once deserted port neighbourhood has become a popular district since Willemdok opened in 2000. You'll find new museums, chic lofts, waterfront terraces and lots of good restaurants in this lively neighbourhood. In summer, locals seek the holiday feeling in their own city here. On the 10th floor of the MAS (Museum aan de Stroom) is a free-to-visit roof terrace. Come here just before sunset for the best view of the old city and the port. The Red Star Line Museum also has an observation tower you can visit for free.
