Nowhere can you admire the Rhine panorama with the Dom and the Altstadt like you can from the newly constructed Rheinboulevard in Deutz.
Cologne residents also mockingly call the eastern part of the city 'schäl Sick', the 'wrong side' (of the Rhine). This includes the district of Deutz. However, that does not mean that this district should hide away, because in Deutz, besides the Messe (exhibition halls) and the studios of TV channel RTL, you will also find the sprawling Rheinpark and the newly constructed Rheinboulevard. From here, you have stunning views of the Rhine and the opposite Altstadt with its cathedral. The Rheinboulevard is one of the city's most visited attractions. Deutz is also known for the Lanxess Arena, which regularly hosts events and concerts.
