Vesterbro is your district if you are looking for a hip and vibrant neighbourhood. Originally a working-class neighbourhood, it has become one of Copenhagen's hippest areas in recent years. Where it used to be a run-down neighbourhood, it has now been totally transformed. More and more young people are moving to the district and the streets and buildings have been rigorously refurbished. Now Istedgade, Vesterbrogade and Sønder Boulevard are cosy and attractive streets full of nice shops, good restaurants and hip design boutiques. In addition, Kødbyen, a former industrial area, is Copenhagen's new entertainment heart.
