The district for lovers of architecture and culture. Georgian houses alternate with cosy pubs and hip restaurants.
As a museum lover, Southside is the place to be. Also, if you have a love of architecture, this is a nice neighbourhood for you. You'll find stately Georgian houses with the typical coloured doors. Around the city gardens of Merrion and Fitzwilliam Square, you'll be spoilt for choice. Merrion Square turns into an outdoor gallery on Sundays, where you can buy works by Irish hobby artists who often create beautiful city and coastal scenes. Also on Merrion Square is the entrance to the imposing National Gallery of Ireland and around the corner you'll find The National Museum of Archaeology and The National Library, both housed in Victorian buildings.
