If you’d prefer to stay in the heart of Florence, then the Centro Storico is the place to be. The historic centre is Florence’s main attraction. Not only is this the ideal neighbourhood for art and culture lovers, but if you enjoy shopping, you’ll also be in your element here. Shops, department shops, museums and historic squares are all jumbled together. It is the most visited neighbourhood in Florence and is therefore usually pleasantly busy. Tip: do try strolling through the Centro Storico in the morning or in the evening, when it’s a lot quieter.
