My favourite district is Graça, because quite a lot of Portuguese people still live there and it’s home to the most beautiful viewpoints.

Lisbon was founded on the banks of the River Tagus. Here you’ll find the old fishing district of Alfama, famous for its fado restaurants, and the Castelo de São Jorge, which offers stunning views over the city. Here, you can wander through the maze of narrow alleyways and old stairways, or take tram 28, which will take you into the Alfama, Castelo and Graça districts, where you’ll find several miradouros (viewpoints). The famous Feira da Ladra flea market also takes place on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and there are countless terraces, restaurants and cafés where you can take a pleasant break whilst exploring these neighbourhoods.
