These districts are not to be missed if you want to mingle with the locals, who frequent the many restaurants and bars there.
If you love good food, this is the place to be. The Cais do Sodré district offers a wide variety of dining options, thanks in part to the Mercado da Ribeira: Lisbon's largest indoor market. The many nice cafés and bars make the district very convivial at night; Pink Street is known as Lisbon's nightlife street. Some of these places on the Tagus River have an added bonus: the beautiful views. Ribeira das Naus is a good place to stroll along the water. Also visit designer district Santos, very popular with expats because of its central location and beautiful tall buildings.
