Whether you visit these neighbourhoods in the afternoon or evening, there is always life on the streets here.
Príncipe Real is Lisbon's artistic neighbourhood and therefore popular with designers and entrepreneurs, who start design shops and restaurants there. It is a green neighbourhood thanks to its botanical garden and the Jardim do Príncipe Real. Bairro Alto is Lisbon's working-class neighbourhood and literally means 'high district'. Nowadays, it is a more alternative district with tattoo shops, fado cafés and trendy pubs. At night, this district is popular among young people for its vibrant atmosphere, which is mainly on the streets and around the miradouros (viewpoints).
