If you are a lover of urban architecture and cool street art, and not averse to a brisk walk, then this neighbourhood is for you.
This is the place to be if you like 1930s urban architecture, with lots of concrete and high-rise buildings. The Lyonnaise urban planner Tony Garnier created this district from his vision of an ideal city. Absolute highlight is the Musée Urbain Tony Garnier, an open-air museum where you walk past giant murals applied by various artists. Each facade is a surprise. On your way to the museum, you'll pass extraordinary frescos: La Tour de Babel with three murals, the Chinese Fresque de Shanghai, the impressive playing girl on the Fresque au Civil Inconnu and the colourful fantasy creature Elefanka.
