If you find yourself daydreaming about the Middle Ages and love exploring the narrow streets and covered arcades, then this is the neighbourhood for you.
If you love medieval buildings with spiral staircases, ochre-coloured façades and secret passageways, then Vieux-Lyon is the place for you. The district is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the famous traboules: passages that look unremarkable from the outside but connect different blocks of houses, and are full of surprises inside. There are also interesting museums, such as the Musée des Arts de la Marionnette and the Musée Cinéma et Miniature. The old Cathédrale Saint-Jean with its astronomical clock is a must-see, and another fun thing to do is take the funicular, the little cable railway, all the way up Fourvière Hill.
