The districts of Mella and Medina-South are nice for culture lovers and if you like gastronomy and couleur locale.
Mella & Medina-Zuid
View on the mapIf you enjoy good food and want to soak up the city's rich culture, this is the neighbourhood for you. South of Djemaa El Fna Square, the souks lead you to a number of beautiful palaces and museums. There are also lovely restaurants serving a mix of French and Moroccan cuisine. The Mella neighbourhood has a slightly different character due to the balconies on the outside of the houses. The best part is the covered spice market. Here you will find the famous spice pyramids and you can have your own spice mix ground. There are also many affordable riads in this neighbourhood. Finish off at a terrace on the Place des Ferblantiers and enjoy the street life.
